All 3 of these pedals excel at preserving your amps tone, but adding a little something- we pay a lot for these amps, why make them sound like pedals?
Vfe pale horse- $140- too much to say about how awesome this pedal is- look it up if you don't know it! 3 types of overdrive, everything so tweakable- from very transparent clean/edge of break up to tube screamer to full on overdrive/distortion!
Walrus audio mayflower- $130- an updated Timmy! So transparent- just pushes your amp to the sweet spot, just like a Timmy. The knock on the Timmy though is as you turn up the gain, you find an unusable overdrive. The mayflower corrects this- very enjoyable overdrive!
Jhs superbolt- $160- adds a little sparkle and midrange. Can be a sparkly clean boost/edge of breakup boost (sounding about dead on the sweet spot of a morning glory)- to Zeppelin- to full on fuzzy.
